About: This painting depicts a snapshot of the horrors of the Armenian Genocide committed by the Turkish Ottoman Empire (Turkey). During the massacre, 1.5 million Armenians were systematically killed by the young Turkish government. The style of the painting was influenced by Picasso, Arshile Gorky, and Martiros Saryan.
